INSURANCE!!
Ok I'll admit it, we don't have health insurance. None. Since we have been married Matt has had ACL surgery, we've had 2 kids, and been to the doctor countless times. And we are still self pay. His business does not offer any kind of insurance so we just haven't looked into it. Now Ella needs tubes in her ears. Our doctor told us to get on insurance because it is a pretty pricey surgery. So, now what? Are any of you self employed and have gotten a good deal on health insurance? I don't even want to START researching it because it seems so overwhelming. Maybe we will just get the kids on it? They are always at the doctor while Matt and I hardly ever go for ourselves. Maybe we will save money that way? I don't know. Advice, anyone?

my only advice which may not be advice, is join the army. They offer the best health insurance. We had 2 kids and have never paid a dime for anything. It is less than $200.00 a month for the premium. You gotta have something though, So in reality, they all really suck! there is no good health insurance out there when doing it self employed. Josh is in the same boat, I think he pays $550 a month and it doesnt cover a lot. I dont think you can cover just the kids, I think at least one parent has to be covered. Good luck, maybe you will find a break through but it will take a lot of research and price comparing. If you put on your application that she needs tubes, your premium will go up etc. sorry.- Jessica
Have tried to apply for Medicaid? It's completely free. IF you want to know more email k- we have been blessed to have it, and i would recommend it to anyone!!! warren_taisley@hotmail.com
Hey girl! Bryson's Uncle does Insurance, so if you want to know more about it I could get his number for you. He is a super nice guy and could probably explain it really well! Hope you figure something out!
hey, i was going to talk to you about this because there's a chiropractor in town that does adjustments on kids and many times helps them if they have ear infections a lot, etc. and they don't have to get tubes....just an idea. He's down by desert palms...actually, I think he's the new owner of D.P. gym. Anyhow, ask me about it next time we talk....as far as insurance....you find out and then tell me cause we're in the same boat. :)
We to were self pay through babies (both NICU) we are now totally covered... IDK join the Army lol good luck!
So Lindsay, I saw you the other day at target and you look so beautiful. (even cuter than in high school) I did not say hi since I was feeling pretty frumpy. But next time! you little ones are just as cute in real life too!
as far as insurance let me know what you find out since we could use some too
hey lindsay! I think you already knew, but I creep your blog every once in awhile:)... I'm sorry to hear about your daughter needing surgery, that can't be fun. About insurance, wamu and chase bank offer great benefits! My husband and I both go to school full-time and work part-time. He works for washington mutual (which is now chase) 20 hours a weeks and we get full benefits. we only pay $60 per pay period for the both of us. I just had surgery and it was fully covered with a zero deductible. If you could research and get a part time job at a bank, it would definitely be well worth it. Sorry that wasn't much help for right now, but maybe in the future. good luck! hope all is well!
