Bad Mom Moment

My poor little Kashy man has had a rough week. He has been sick with a horrible cold, has impetigo, (it's a skin condition where you get open sores that ooz and turn yellow and then scab over, nice huh?), he has rashes on his inner thighs due to his mom not putting a swimmer on him at the splash pad and his diaper became extremely full and rubbed his legs raw..... and then the worst thing happened. It was bad, let me tell you. I'm pretty sure I'm scarred for life. Kash burned himself on MY CURLING IRON. First of all, I NEVER curl my hair. Secondly, I literally walked away from it for 5 SECONDS and then heard the screams. He must have grabbed it full on. He was so upset. I could not calm him down. I tried to keep his hand in the cold running water but he wanted nothing to do with it. I tried ice, I tried every distraction possible, he just kept screaming and screaming. He is a pretty tough kid, and when he gets hurt he usually gets over it quickly. That's why I knew it was bad. Needless to say, when Matt arrived home he found both Kash and I on the bathroom floor bawling our eyes out. Even after Kash stopped crying, which was soon after Matt got there, I could not stop. Matt kept telling me to leave the room because I couldn't keep myself together! I felt so bad, all I could say was, "I'm sorry Kashy, I'm so sorry." He has one enormous blister on his pointer finger, and the other 3 fingers are also burned.

I will never curl my hair again.
