The LA County Fair

It has become tradition to go to the LA County Fair every year.  For the past two years it has worked out perfectly to go to California for the fair, and to celebrate both Kash and my dad's birthdays, which are just three days apart.  We always have so much fun.

After much searching, we finally found the carousel for Miss Liddy.

We love the fair! Can't wait for next year.

Kash turns FiVe!

 Kash is officially five years old.  He had been talking about his birthday for weeks, he couldn't wait to turn 5.  He is growing up so fast!  He awoke to balloons covering his bedroom floor.

Kash actually had three parties.  One at home, one in California, and one at Bob and Dobo's house.  So more pictures to come.

Kash Rides

 Kash's bike is a little big for him so he has never liked riding it.  Even with training wheels on it he doesn't feel comfortable, it's just too awkward.  So he has been riding a strider bike (one without pedals) for the last little while, learning to balance.  One day he was in the front yard watching our neighbor ride her 12'' bike which she just learned to ride without training wheels.  He asked her if he could try riding it and she agreed.  Matt was picking weeds and decided he better go over there and help him with his first official bike riding lesson.  Before he could get up Kash was down the street! He got on that thing and just took off, no problem! He is now constantly asking to ride her bike, because he loves the smaller size.  He has been begging for a new bike, even though his is basically brand new, hardly even used.  That is all he wants for his birthday!

Kanarraville Falls

Cody took us on a hike to Kanarraville Falls.  We didn't really know what we were getting ourselves into, it ended up being a 4 hour hike!  With three kids and one that had to be carried the whole way, it was quite the adventure.  You walk through the river most of the time, climb a rickety "ladder", and finally get to a natural rock water slide. 

 Here is the ladder that was missing quite a few stairs. Luckily a very nice stranger helped grab our kids at the top!

 Cody demonstrated, and then took Ella on his lap.  Matt took Kash, and then Evie.  That is when Matt threw his back out! We still had to hike all the way back.  Luckily it wasn't as bad as he has hurt it in the past, so we somehow all made it back safely.

 Going down was a lot easier than going up.  Cody carried Evie down and passed her to Matt.

 

 Even this pregnant girl made it down okay.

 I think we will definitely go on another hike, just not too soon.

1st day of preschool

Kash is now in the 4 year old class at preschool.  He was so excited to start school because Ella started weeks ago and he was feeling a little left out.  He has the same teacher again, Mrs. Mickell, and most of the same kids are in his class again this year.  Of course he is still the biggest, and since he turns five September 19th, he is the oldest too. He is such a sweet boy!
